Every Saturday we have a Social Ride which leaves from the shop at 9:00am. These rides are generally for the slightly more experienced road cyclists as we ride at an average 15mph for between 25-30 miles. We have many local cyclists who join us regularly creating a group of between 10 and 20 each Saturday. We sometimes split into 2 groups depending on numbers and experience. Our regular routes take us out to Stock, Ingatestone, Margaretting, Mountnessing, Highwood, Blackmore, Bulphan, Bicknacre, Hanningfield and Cock Clarks along some of the quietest, most beautiful country lanes of Essex.
During warmer months we also hold early evening rides on Thursdays at 6:30pm and occasional late afternoon rides on Sundays at 4:00pm for the newer or more relaxed cyclists who would prefer a shorter, slower ride to gain confidence or just to experience cycling in a small group.
We regularly post updates on social media sites to inform our customers of when rides will be taking place.
All our rides are free and do not require any form of membership – just turn up with your bike!
The cyclists who join us are local guys and girls who just want to ride in a group, improve their fitness and cycling and enjoy some social cycling banter! Riding with a social group is more rewarding than solo riding. We are fully insured as a member of the national cycling charity CYCLING UK and always have a lead and rear rider to control the group.
